ORLANDO, MA BIOGRAPHIE POLITIQUE

Paul B. Preciado

WITH THE FILMMAKER

At the beginning of the 20th century, the English author Virginia Woolf published Orlando: a biography, a novel in which the protagonist suddenly changes sex in her sleep. Almost a century later, the philosopher, writer and trans activist Paul B. Preciado wrote a letter to the author, in the form of a film, to tell her that her fiction has indeed become reality. Under the lens of the - now - filmmaker, 26 trans and non- binary people, aged from 8 to 70, take turns to embody Virginia Woolf’s “Orlando” in a playful and daring production. A contemporary re-reading in which literary and intimate narratives mingle, affirming once again that the body is definitively political.
