This project grew out of an encounter between two female artists.
The first, Marie Losier, has made a name for herself in underground cinema. Using her small 16mm camera, she has for many years been making portraits of extraordinary artists, ‘free extroverts’ as she likes to call them.
The second, Canadian singer Peaches, has created a unique musical and visual universe. Over the years, she has become a queer feminist icon and the queen of the electro punk scene. These two women seem to be made for each other, and for over 15 years their friendly encounters have been captured on camera.
The film shows the visible and predictable side of the crazy diva – her wild concerts, the tours, life backstage, the interviews – as a long trip on hallucinogens. More tenderly, it portrays the strong bonds she has with her family, and especially with her sister Suri. The result is a complex portrait of a woman who is free to be who she is, and more layered than her public image suggests.
