LAST THINGS

Deborah Stratman

What if stones and rocks hid within them a kind of “text” that told us the story of humanity in a different way? Woven together from archive images found on the Internet, in laboratories and museums, the latest film by American artist Deborah Stratman moves between documentary and science fiction to give us a glimpse of the limits of our knowledge. To unfold this fantastic tale, the filmmaker draws on the novels of Belgian author J.-H. Rosny (the shared pseudonym of the Boex brothers, born in the 19th century), the founders of modern science fiction.
