SELF-PORTRAIT AS A COFFEE-POT

WILLIAM KENTRIDGE

How does an idea become a work of art? Artist William Kentridge reveals a few secrets.

In Self-Portrait as a Coffee-Pot, William Kentridge opens his Johannesburg studio to show how ideas emerge, evolve and sometimes fail. Episodes 1 and 9 offer two perspectives on this creative process: from experiments in the studio to a collective journey involving musicians, performers and a brass band.

This screening accompanies Bozar’s exhibition William Kentridge. I am not me, the horse is not mine till the 7th of March 2027.
